WELCOME TO THE 35TH GALWAY summer FLUTE FESTIVAL

MEGGEN, LUZERN, SWITZERLAND
THURSDAY 13 - MONDAY 17 JUNE 2024

GALWAY FLUTE FESTIVAL

What began as a simple Masterclass 35 years ago, has grown into one of the most sought after Summer Flute festivals. Through the passion and guidance of Sir James & Lady Galway, they have bought thousands of flutists and music lovers together in a wonderfully nurturing and non-competitive environment.

This summer and part of Sir James’ 85th Birthday year, we will be holding our 35th Galway Flute Festival 'live' in person from our hometown of Meggen in Luzern, Switzerland.

During the flute festival students are totally immersed in the skills of playing the flute; learning, listening and socialising with the most eminent flutists of our time.

The schedule includes warm-ups and personal masterclasses with Sir James, Lady Galway and a distinguished faculty of renowned International Guest Artists.  We will be focusing on all aspects of flute playing with emphasis on studies, recital and concerto repertoire.

With the assistance of Guest Artists, business leaders and flute makers, students and flute lovers of all levels are able to gain an invaluable insight into the world of flute playing. We want to give you the confidence and tools to become the best flute player you can be.

The 2024 Summer Festival programme

Each of our 5 days at the Galway Summer Flute Festival looks slightly different, but they are all crammed full of great opportunities to learn and develop your flute playing and be a part of a supportive learning community.  Masterclasses in standard flute repertoire, orchestral excerpts, piccolo sessions, scales, studies and more.
